Hey bloggy, I almost forgot to write in you today! I've actually had this idea in my head all day to do a different kind of entry, because today went rather slow. So, I'm going to review a few products that I recently bought and have used for awhile. Some are amazing, and some not so much. But, can I start off by saying that the new crunchy beef burrito from Taco Bell is mildly gross. I mean, flamin' hot Fritos inside a nacho cheese, rice, beef, and maybe-bean burrito. Yeah, I regret that choice and remember why I'm sick of Taco Bell in the first place.
But, anywhosel, here's your reviews for today:
1. Sephora Hydrating & Smoothing Liquid Foundation

Rating: 3/5
Liquid foundation, something I've been neglecting to buy for the past...forever. While most of my makeup needs are covered by MAC's Studio Fix powder, there's still those little, randomly blotchy spots where cover up just wont do the trick. So, for $20 I tried out Sephora's brand (Which sadly I needed the ABSOLUTE LIGHTEST shade in). Attracted by the words smoothing and hydrating (My skin is very dry, more on that in a minute), I thought that this would be my cure all, and it sort of was in a way.
Overall, I can't say I'm ecstatic about the results. The foundation does leave a soft, smooth texture on skin with NO dryness to it. But, for those places not so fortunate, it tends to glob up and leave ovbious trails of its application. The smell is also puzzling, it's a little like baby powder, though I can't place it exactly. I haven't seen any evidence of hydrating either, which I've left entirely to my moisturizer.
The plus side is that it does cover up blemishes, to an extent. The redness on my chin was removed with only a tiny bead of foundation, though the small blemish on my cheek was still visible through it. The size is a little disheartening, being only 1 oz and looking like a midget next to my to-dark Bobbi Brown foundation, but little is needed to complete the job. This was a plus along with its compact size being able to fit snugly into my makeup bag.
Overall, this isn't a throw away product, I just won't buy it again when the product runs out. I think I'll turn to Victoria's Secret and buy from them next time, for 16 bucks rather than 20.
2. Medusa's Make-Up Stick It! Eye Dust Primer

Rating: 2/5
Now, this report might be a little biased, but in the way one would hope biased reports go. I've been an Urban Decay junkie ever since I discovered the wonders of eye primer. Runs were minimal, and my shadow ceased to flake all day long; it was a makeup wonderland of sorts. The problem with this is all things must come to an end, and the super-sized bottle I received last Christmas has been strained down to the bones. And, at 18 bucks a pop for the regular size, I wasn't ready to fork out that kind of cash. But, to my delight, I saw a little round package on a sales rack, priced 4.50 plus an additional 50% off. Now I guess I know why.
I've always loved the shadow dusts by Medusa, the bright and vibrant colors are wonderful and always pop. But sadly, this product didn't live up to expectations. Upon opening, you can see that the primer is a standard tan; but when applied comes off clear. The product itself is heavy, kind of feeling oil or wax based. I was immediately turned off by the sticky mess I had just smeared on my eye, but figured it would dry and become weightless. The problem with Medusa's primer is that it just can't stack up to brands like Urban Decay. I noticed a lot of fallout from my eyeshadow and pretty bad bleeding from my eyeliner (Urban Decay's Primer Potion even holds heavy eyeliner with ease). So, I decided to take it on a shower test, knowing the shockingly minimal run from Urban Decay even through a complete shower. I stepped out looking like I had just cried bloody murder for an hour. Eyeshadow streaming down my face with a black trail of liner to outline it.
Overall, I'm glad I only paid $2.25 for it. Next time, I'll splurge on Urban Decay's Primer Potion instead.
3. Olay Complete UV Moisture Cream with SPF 15

Rating: 4/5
This moisturizer is my miracle product. I have chronic dry skin on my face, and Olay evaporates it in seconds. The smell of the cream itself is pleasant, not too potent and in fact almost odorless. But the results are really worth raving about. My skin is the smoothest it has ever been. And with the combination of an abrasive scrub in the shower (I recommend St. Ives apricot scrub and an exfoliating washcloth, both can be found at your local store), I have glowing, soft skin I love to show off.
A jar of this 2 oz. Olay cream is relatively inexpensive; I picked up mine at Target for about 5 dollars. So far it's been about a month and I'm only half way through the jar (Keep in mind I use this day AND night). My only complaint that keeps this from a perfect score is that it does feel a little oily on your hands after application, though the product has never broken out my skin which was once prone to acne. But, don't let that factor stop you from picking up a jar, because I highly recommend it to anyone with dry skin or want soft, radiant skin! This is a must buy.
4. Aussie Hair Products Three Minute Miracle Conditioner

Rating: 5/5
So, you might think I went a little gung-ho on this rating, but it's really that good. I'm a slave to Aussie products, I for instance use the voluminous shampoo, mousse, and humidity control spray. Their products always have worked, even on the stubbornest hair which happens to grow on my head, plus they smell bloody good (I've gotten tons of compliments on the smell of my hair oddly enough haha)! So, when I noticed this 'Three minute miracle' and took a look at my frizzy, flyaway hair, I just had to grab a bottle.
This conditioner is a bit different than the ones I usually use. It comes in a smaller, cylinder-looking bottle, which at first worried me by the size. But for $2.99 at Target I said "What the hell" and took the plunge. Now, what's good about this is, you need VERY little conditioner to achieve the results. Simply work all over though every layer and down to the tips, and wash with warm water thoroughly. Then, it says to rinse with cold water; which is the part I always hate because I lose that warm shower feeling, but then I turn the hot right back on as I finish up. As I stepped out of the shower and saw my hair, I could already tell that something was different. And, once I finished drying, I saw exactly what I had dreamed of. Clean, fly away free, non-frizzy hair. Praise Jesus hallelujah!
If there was a wonder-product, this would be it. The conditioner works great, with loads of product to last through tons of washings. The smell is fantastic as well, like most Aussie products, and is my favorite sent out of all the products I've used by them. So, if you've got stubborn, crazy hair, tame it with Aussie's Three Minute Miracle. I don't think I can ever go back to regular conditioner again after these results!
